Shelly James Receives INBRE Award
Shelly James, a post doctoral fellow in Dr. Scott Burchiel's lab, recently won an INBRE award, which is designed to encourage collaboration between industry and academics. She will be working on the design and synthesis of quantum dots conjugated to antibodies that incorporate a radioactive imaging agent. These compounds can be used to image early stage cancers, and potentially allow for earlier detection and treatment. She will be working on this project with Dr. Burchiel; Dr. Arterburn from New Mexico State University, and eBioscience.
