Welcome to the College of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico. We are pleased that you have an interest in our programs and we are anxious to share the many facets that make the College of Pharmacy a jewel in the Land of Enchantment!

Since our founding in 1945, as the first health professional program on the University of New Mexico campus, over 2,500 pharmacists and 100 pharmaceutical scientists have graduated from the College. Our graduates are leaders in their communities, in their practice sites, in academia and in the pharmaceutical industry.

Our mission is to develop innovative leaders in pharmaceutical care and research who enhance the quality of life for the people of New Mexico. To meet this mission, we offer the professional doctoral program in pharmacy (Pharm.D.) as well as MS and PhD programs in the pharmaceutical sciences. At the postdoctoral level, we offer a number of postgraduate residencies in a wide range of subspecialties of pharmacy practice. We also offer numerous postdoctoral fellowships in the pharmaceutical sciences.

Our College has a number of distinctive features and programs. The College established the first Nuclear Pharmacy training program (graduate, residency and certificate) in the United States, we enroll the most ethnically diverse pharmacy student body in the U.S., and our faculty direct a National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences Research Center in Toxicology, the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center, the New Mexico Center for Isotopes in Medicine, and the Veterans Affairs Cooperative Studies Program Clinical Research Pharmacy.
