Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (PHRM 771 and 772)
General Information PHRM 771 is a month-long Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) in Community Pharmacy. This IPPE takes place the summer following the first year in the professional program. PHRM 772 is a month-long IPPE in Institutional Pharmacy and takes place the summer following the second year in the professional program.

Training/Requirements All first- and second-year students must complete the following training/requirements prior to beginning IPPE rotations:
UNM Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Blood Borne Pathogens
Current CPR or BLS certification
Current Intern License
Current Immunizations
HIPPA and Blood Borne Pathogens training may be completed through UNM Learning Central.
Students are responsible for completing CPR training on their own.

Evaluations Students completing an IPPE
rotation must submit the
PHRM 771/772 Student Evaluation of Preceptor and Site.
Grades will not be released until evaluations are completed.
The Office of Experiential Programs (OEP) will hold several informational sessions and provide more detailed information throughout the year.
General Information Students are required to complete nine, one-month rotations during the fourth year of the professional program, for a total of 36 credit hours.

All evaluations of APPE preceptors must be completed in PEMS. Grades will not be released until all evaluations are submitted. To access PEMS,
