Admission Process

Application Procedures For Domestic Students

 

Fall 2012 admission deadline is February 1, 2012 - This is the date by which the Program must have applicant’s completed file.

 

Admissions criteria include
 

  • a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 GPA
     

  • positive letters of recommendation
     

  • Although not required, completion of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) with a minimum score of 1000 is strongly encouraged.
     

  • Individual concentrations may require pre-requisite course work as well.
     

1.  Submit an application packet to the UNM Graduate Admissions Department, which shall contain the following:

 

  • UNM Application for Admission form (Completed online)
     

  • Residency form (Completed online)
     

  • $50.00 application fee check made out to the UNM Department of Graduate Admissions
     

  • Original, official, sealed transcript from each school attended: All academic transcripts and secondary school leaving certificates submitted must be official copies or certified copies bearing the original stamps, seals, and signatures of the issuing institution's designated officials.

2.  Submit the following directly to the Pharmacy Program Office:

 

  • Letter of intent detailing the reasons for requesting admission to the graduate program, future professional goals, why a graduate degree is necessary for the accomplishment of these goals, a description of past academic and professional accomplishments, relevant experience, and your research interests. If applying for the MS program, please make sure to include your area of concentration. in your letter Information on Letter of Intent is available from the Graduate Studies Website or http://www.unm.edu/grad/eforms/intentletter.html
     

  • Current resume providing a summary of the applicant’s experience.
     

  • Two letters of recommendation on UNM forms from persons familiar with your academic ability and potential for graduate-level work. Be sure to complete the top section before distributing the form. The recommendation forms are available from the Graduate Studies Website or http://www.unm.edu/grad/eforms/Recommend.pdf

  • A minimum TOEFL Score of 580 on the paper test, 237 on the computer test, or 93 on the internet test
     

  • Completion of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is required.  A minimum score of 1000 is strongly encouraged.
     

  • Individual concentrations may require pre-requisite course work as well.
