James E. De Muth, PhD, RPh is a professor in Extension Services in Pharmacy and the School of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received the B.S. in Pharmacy degree (1970) from Drake University and the M.S. (1972) and Ph.D. (1974) degrees in Pharmacy Continuing Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His primary responsibilities are the development, implementation and evaluation of continuing education offerings for individuals in the pharmaceutical industry and pharmacists within the United States. Melanie A. Dodd, RPh, PharmD, BCPS is a research assistant professor of Geriatrics, Geriatrics Specialized Residency Director, at the College of Pharmacy at The University of New Mexico. She received a B.S. in Pharmacy degree (1994) from Purdue University and a Pharm.D. degree (1997) from The University of New Mexico.

Patricia Marshik, PharmD, RPh is an assistant professor in the College of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico. She received her B.S. degree in Pharmacy and Pharm.D. from the University of Minnesota. Her primary research interests are in the area of pulmonary disease.


 

James Nawarskas, PharmD, BCPS, RPh is Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy. He received a B.S. in Pharmacy (1993) from the University of Toledo and a Pharm.D. (1995) from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He also completed a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy (1997) at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science and became a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist in 1999. He practices both inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular pharmacotherapy at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. His research interests lie in the areas of atherosclerotic vascular disease, heart failure, and alternative cardiovascular medicine.


 

Robert L. Rhyne, MD is an associate professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the UNM School of Medicine. He received his MD from the UNM School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine residency at Duke University. He was a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar and studied clinical epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of North Carolina. His research interests are herbal and other alternative forms of care, community health, international health, primary care topics.
