MASTERS PROGRAM IN RADIOPHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES (RADIOPHARMACY)

 

Information about the Concentration

 

A program leading to an M.S. degree with emphasis in the area of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (Radiopharmacy) is offered to individuals who have received a professional degree in Pharmacy or B.S. in a health-related science. College-level organic chemistry, physics, and mathematics through calculus are prerequisites to entry into the program. Didactic and laboratory coursework, research leading to a thesis (Plan I) or non-thesis (Plan II) and an opportunity for experience in Radiopharmacy practice are components of the program. The coursework available to students in this program encompasses the knowledge areas prescribed by the Nuclear Pharmacy Practice Guidelines which are endorsed by the American Pharmaceutical Association and the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties. The student’s program is developed and supervised by a committee on Studies. Presently the Radiopharmacy Concentration has two full-time and two part-time faculty plus a number of volunteer faculty members.
