Do
not eat from damaged or open containers.
Drink
bottled water – especially infants, children, and
pregnant women –until the utility company says its safe
to drink water from the tap (or have well water tested
for bacteria, metals, and gasoline/oil by-products).
Boiling water or disinfecting with 1/8 teaspoon of
bleach to 1 gallon of water will kill bacteria and
viruses, but will not get rid of toxins that may be in
the water. Boiling can actually concentrate the toxins.
Don’t
eat fish and sea food from the local area until water
and wild-life has been tested and determined to be safe.
- Do eat fruits and
vegetables (fresh, frozen, or canned), take vitamins and
minerals, and eat healthy fats like olive canola, or soy
oil. Fish oil is good too, if the fish are safe to eat.
Avoid solid fats like butter, fats found in meat, and
shortening. These fats can accumulate certain types of
toxins. Eating well can help your body clean and repair
itself!
