EDUCATION
OE.1. Recruit and admit a diverse group of students who have the potential for academic and professional success and leadership.
OE.1.a. Implement a timely and efficient recruitment program that results in a large, diverse pool of qualified applicants.
OE.1.b. Use contemporary, thoughtful, evidence-based, and ethical admissions guidelines and practices.
OE.2. Using best educational practices, provide a competency-based curriculum that prepares graduates for professional careers and develops leaders and lifelong learning skills.
OE.2.a. Support faculty in using evidence-based instructional practices that meet diverse teaching styles and learning needs.
OE.2.b. Develop and maintain contemporary, coherent, competency-based curricula that produce highly capable professionals.
OE.2.c. Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to identify and track gaps and growth in student skills, knowledge, abilities, attitudes, and values.
OE.2.d. Employ continuous quality improvement strategies to ensure high quality education in pharmaceutical sciences and contemporary pharmacy practices.
OE.3. Provide support to optimize student success and maximize completion of degree programs for professional careers.

OE.3.b. Implement grading and student policies with integrity, fairness, consistency, and transparency.

OE.6.a. Hire personnel and distribute responsibilities to meet programmatic needs.
OE.6.b. Provide and implement clear and consistent personnel policies that advance education goals, delineate authority, and reward excellence in teaching.
RESEARCH and OTHER SCHOLARSHIP
ORS.1. Maximize research and scholarship productivity and funding.
ORS.1.a. Implement mechanisms for sharing ideas for and products of research and other scholarly activities.
ORS.1.b. Provide resources and support for professional development that advance research and other scholarly activities.
ORS.1.c. Provide appropriate, adequate, and up-to-date physical facilities and equipment.
ORS.2. Provide training and research opportunities for students and post-doctorates that develop strong scientific literacy and scholarship.
ORS.3. Recruit and retain qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic faculty and staff who engage in high-impact research and scholarly activities.
PHARMACY PRACTICE and PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
OPS.1. Provide services that enhance the quality of life for the people of New Mexico.
OPS.1.a. Maximize quality direct patient care and reimbursable services.
OPS.1.b. Provide education on contemporary pharmaceutical issues for other healthcare professionals.
OPS.1.c. Provide community outreach and education programs and activities for the public.
OPS.2. Provide services to assist and advance professional organizations.
OPS.3. Provide services to support the University, the Health Sciences Center, and the College.
ADVANCEMENT
OA.1. Promote the UNM College of Pharmacy and its accomplishments through events, collaborative partnerships, and public awareness.
OA.2. Generate resources to assist the UNM COP in achieving its mission and goals
OA2.a. Identify, evaluate, and prioritize key programs that need funding.
OA2.b. Identify the amount of funding needed to implement key programs and accomplish key tasks.
OA2.c. Create a culture of philanthropy among alumni, pharmacy constituencies, faculty, staff and students
OA.3. Develop and maintain strategic alliances for collaboration, funding, and the advancement of the College’s mission and goals.
OA.4. Develop and cultivate relationships with alumni and friends of the UNM College of Pharmacy
ADMINISTRATION and INFRASTRUCTURE
Governance
OAI.1.Foster and maintain productive relationships within and outside the University to support and advance the College’s mission and goals.
OAI.1.a. Foster organizational development and collegiality.
OAI.1.b. Align with University and HSC policies, bylaws, and procedures.
OAI.2. Responsibly allocate resources to support and advance the College’s mission and goals.
OAI.2.a. Allocate resources in a fair and transparent manner.
OAI.2.b. Provide appropriate authority and responsibility of faculty leadership regarding resource allocation and management.
OAI.3. Provide meaningful and defined lines of authority, responsibility, and accountability that enhance efficiency in College functioning and directly align with the College’s mission and goals.
OAI.3.a. Enable appropriate College-wide participation in governance.
OAI.4. Employ continuous review and revision of College bylaws, policies, plans, and procedures using staff and faculty input.
OAI.5. Recruit and retain qualified, dedicated, and enthusiastic administrators who competently serve the College.

Facilities
OAI.10. Provide a sufficient quantity of satisfactory and appropriate education, research, service and administrative facilities that maximize the college’s ability to achieve its mission and goals.
Information Technology (IT) and Communications
OAI.11. Implement an efficient and effective contemporary knowledge management and IT program that maximizes the College’s performance.
OAI.11.a. Employ continuous quality improvement strategies to evaluate and prioritize IT needs using faculty, student, and staff input.
OAI.11.b. Maintain an IT system that provides hardware and software support, user training, resource management, and other IT support.
OAI.11.c. Employ strategies to identify and prioritize new IT technologies and resources to support and advance education, research, professional practice, and administrative activities.
OAI.11.d. Recruit and retain qualified, dedicated, effective, and efficient personnel to support daily functioning and advance IT in the College.
OAI.12. Provide a communications framework that supports efficient dissemination of information to local, regional, national, and global audiences.
OAI.12.a. Orient and update the COP community to the IT environment, issues, and topics in the COP.
OAI.12.b. Develop and maintain informative, attractive, highly usable, and easily accessible mechanisms for COP audiences to obtain COP-related information.
Finance
OAI.13. Ensure that the College has the financial resources to accomplish its mission and goals.
OAI.13.a. Implement financial and business policies that are aligned with the College values, mission, goals, and objectives.
OAI.13.b. Provide a mechanism for faculty/departmental leaders to participate in allocation of College funds.
