What is National Poison Prevention Week?
Each year, National Poison Prevention Week is
designated by Presidential proclamation. It is a time
for the nation and local poison centers, pharmacies,
public health departments, and local communities to raise awareness of the
dangers of unintentional poisonings, especially among children under age 5.
National Poison Prevention Week is coordinated by the Poison Prevention
Week Council, a coalition of national organizations
working to prevent poisonings.
When is National Poison Prevention Week?
National Poison Prevention Week is always observed during the
third full week in March.
