We have an exciting opportunity
for a post-doctoral fellow to pursue
research in the development of a novel dry
powder inhaler device. This project is
funded through an industrial collaboration
with a major healthcare company. The
successful candidate will be an integral
member of a team of scientists that will
bring a prototype device to a stage of
development that is suitable for clinical
testing in human subjects. As such, this
position provides a unique opportunity to
experience the broad range of activities
that is necessary for medical device
development.

Post-doctoral
Fellow –Inhaler Device Design and
Development
We are currently seeking
qualified applicants for a position as a
postdoctoral researcher on a new project to
build a novel dry powder inhaler for use in
drug delivery of a wide variety of drugs to
the lungs. The selected applicant will work
closely with Profs. Hugh D Smyth and C.
Randall Truman at the University of New
Mexico, Albuquerque, NM. This is a
collaborative project between the Department
of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the
Department of Mechanical Engineering. The
successful applicant will work in within
this interdisciplinary team on all aspects
of device design, fabrication,
characterization, and application.
