Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy AMCP’s mission is to empower its members to serve society by using sound medication management principles and strategies to improve health care for all. Managed care pharmacy principles are based upon the use of scientific evidence to achieve healthy outcomes while making the best use of money spent on medications and their management.

APhA-ASP Student Chapter The American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the national professional society of pharmacists, founded in 1852 as the American Pharmaceutical Association, is the first established and largest professional association of pharmacists in the United States. The more than 50,000 members of APhA include practicing pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists, pharmacy students, pharmacy technicians, and others interested in advancing the profession. The Association is a leader in providing professional information and education for pharmacists and an advocate for improved health of the American public through the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care.
     ASP is an acronym for Academy of Student Pharmacists and represents the student population of APhA, which is the world's largest pharmacy student organization. ASP opens the door to exploring many career paths in pharmacy today, and represents pharmacy students from all areas of pharmacy. The University of New Mexico chapter has 160+ members that represent students from every cohort year, as well as pre-pharmacy students, and is a part of the 24,500+ student members of ASP nationwide.

ASHP-SSHP The Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists is a 30,000-member national professional association that represents pharmacists who practice in hospitals, health maintenance organizations, home care agencies, long-term-care facilities, and other components of health systems. The Society has extensive publishing and educational programs designed to help members improve their delivery of pharmaceutical care, and it is a national accrediting organization for pharmacy residency and pharmacy technician training programs. In addition, ASHP SSHP has a long-standing commitment to pharmacy students, their professional development, and their involvement in the affairs of the Society.

National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) Student Community NCPA provides pharmacy students with the opportunity to interact with successful practitioners across the nation in order to build a career in an independent pharmacy setting.  Information on how to start a pharmacy through financing and management is presented, along with strategies on successful retail operations.

Phi Delta Chi Phi Delta Chi is a professional pharmacy fraternity located at the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy. The organization believes that high academic standards, community service, and brotherhood are of the utmost value. Their mission is to improve the science of pharmacy and serve our community.

Phi Lambda Sigma The purpose of Phi Lambda Sigma, also known as the national Pharmacy Leadership Society, is to promote the development of leadership qualities, especially among pharmacy students. By peer recognition, the Society encourages participation in all pharmacy activities. Since membership crosses fraternal and organizational lines, the Society does not compete with other pharmacy organizations.
