Got Shots? Protect Tots! August 4-9, 2008

"Got Shots? Protect Tots!" is a quarterly event designed to provide additional opportunities for children to stay up-to-date on their immunizations. This is an opportunity to catch children up to date on any vaccine they require.

During "Got Shots? Protect Tots!" week, participating providers will open their doors on one or more of the dates and provide immunizations to any child who presents without an appointment, regardless of whether they are a patient or whether they have insurance. Most participating providers will also have Presumptive and Medicaid Eligibility services available during the event.

Children 6 months up to 5 years of age should get vaccinated against influenza (the flu). The first season a child under age 9 receives influenza vaccine, he will need two doses, a month apart, to be fully protected.
