Offices

Faculty, staff and student research is supported by numerous offices, including the Office of Research, Grants Management/Preaward, and the Human Research Protections Office.  Also check out our list of Research Related Facilities.

 

• Conflicts of Interest - Protects the integrity, trust and respect of UNM, its academic community and its research activities
   
• Grants Management/Preaward - Birthplace of Grants, Contracts and Other Agreements that benefit the UNM Health Science Center in its Research, Public Service and Educational goals
   
• HSC Compliance Office - Promotes HSC-wide integrity to ensure compliance with the many laws and regulations under which the HSC operates
   

• Biosafety Compliance - Protects personnel from exposure to infectious agents or other viable research biological materials that may cause harm to them or others

• Human Research Protections Office - Office supports the HRRC (IRB) and ensures the safety and protection of individuals involved in human research

• Office of Animal Care Compliance - Office supports the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and ensures that all animals used in research are treated in a humane and ethical manner
  

 
• Institute for Ethics - Serves as a center for ethics education, service and scholarship at a local, regional and national level
   
• Interpreter Language Services Department - At UNM Hospitals provides professional medical Interpreters to limited-English-proficient and hearing-impaired patients, as well as translation of document services
   
• Office of Research - Supports the research efforts of the faculty and staff  by managing and sustaining research relationships within UNM and between UNM and external biomedical research organizations
   
• Science & Technology Corporation - a nonprofit corporation formed by UNM to protect and transfer its faculty inventions to the commercial marketplace.
