Educational Programs

 

Our mission is to provide opportunities for faculty members and pre-doctoral students to participate in training that is focused on clinical and translational research. Junior faculty members can complete a master’s degree in biomedical sciences-with a concentration in clinical research. The masters program offers coursework to develop excellent clinical investigators with a strong foundation in the basics of patient and community translational research.

Using principles of adult and problem-based learning, and building on the established multidisciplinary Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program (BSGP), these educational programs will:

• Significantly enhance the training of clinical investigators with terminal degrees (MD, Pharm.D., and PhD in Nursing)

• Provide training in clinical and translational research to pre-doctoral students
• Significantly increase interaction and collaboration between clinical investigators and basic scientists in the School of Medicine, College of Nursing, and College of Pharmacy.

 

Programs Offered:

The Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Clinical Research (MS-BIOMED-CR) will provide learners, already holding terminal degrees (i.e., PhD, MD, PharmD), with the didactic and experiential learning necessary to conduct NIH-funded clinical and translational research.
