Resources for Researchers
The following programs are in concert with the Clinical & Translational Science Center development.
- Regulatory Support Unit (RSU) - The RSU assists
with all regulatory aspects of investigator and sponsor-initiated
research, including compliance, IND/IDE applications, and IRB
applications. In collaboration with the
Human Research
Protections Office, this program coordinates and oversees the
research training programs for investigators, pharmacists, nurses and
staff.
- Educational Programs -
This link will take you to the Research, Education, Training &
Career Development (RETCD) site hosted by the Biomedical Research
Education Program Office (BREP). The CTSC and the BREP are working
together to develop training for clinical and translational
investigators. RETCD offers multiple training opportunities that can
accommodate challenging schedules, a wide range of goals, and a
varying set of research interests.
-
Career Development -
This link will take you to the Biomedical Research Education Program
Office (BREP). In their continued joint ventures, BREP and
CTSC are developing career development opportunities for clinical
and translational investigators.
- General
Clinical Research Center - The General Clinical Research Center
(GCRC) supports investigators by providing free or low cost services
for NIH or investigator initiated studies. The GCRC will
eventually be named the Participant and Clinical Interactions
Resource (PCIR)
- Biostatistics/Primary Support Unit (PSU)
The Primary Support Unit provides CTSC investigators with
comprehensive support for study design, biostatistics, ethics, and
basic data management from a centralized, coordinated resource.
Additional biostatistician expertise is available specifically for
GME medical residents.
- Biomedical Informatics (BMI) is key to the CTSC’s goal of creating coordinated infrastructure
that encourages innovative clinical and translational research.
