The CTSC is a Health Sciences Center initiative to integrate and expand the reach of clinical medical research from the laboratory to clinical and medical practice: promoting a bench to bedside to community effort.
Current clinical research infrastructure at the HSC will
be expanded to support the developing needs of translational
researchers. For instance, the
General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) , offers the track record
and expertise that will be used in building the CTSC network of
researchers. The
HSC Signature Programs offer the breadth and depth of research
expertise to build a solid clinical and translational research program.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH)
promotes this emphasis on clinical and translational research
nationally, to facilitate the expansion of clinical research, the
training of clinical researchers, and the emergence of community voice
in the direction and implementation of clinical research.
UNM HSC and Partners:
At UNM HSC we are building capacity in clinical research through the
concerted efforts of School of Medicine, College of Nursing, and College
of Pharmacy faculty members, and their affiliated research facilities,
laboratories, as well as Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, School
of Engineering, and the National Laboratories.
Please continue to visit the CTSC web page for updates and announcements
as we continue to develop our program.
