Training and Education
UNM HSC conducts education programs to support investigators in expanding their knowledge and
skills in research as well as further their career choices in the research field.
- Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program (BSGP) - offers students an
exciting opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the biomedical sciences in a spectacular southwestern setting
- Certificate Program in Science Teaching - A formal teacher
training program as teaching is an important part of most academic careers
- M.D./Ph.D. Program - Designed to provide comprehensive training in both
clinical sciences and a basic biomedical science discipline
- Masters in Clinical Research - Provides learners, having
previously earned a terminal degree (i.e., PhD, MD, PharmD), with the didactic and experiential learning necessary to conduct
NIH-funded clinical and translational research
- Post Doctoral Training - Draws upon collaborative, interdisciplinary
efforts of faculty in the School of Medicine and College of Pharmacy; Promotes significant advances in the basic sciences;
and supports translational research programs focused on improving healthcare
- The Mentored Career Development Program - will support the research career development of clinical researchers who have
recently completed professional training and who are commencing basic, translational and/or clinical research. The goal of
this program is to foster the discipline of clinical research and, by increasing clinical research capacity, to expedite
