It is critical that RIOS Net’s activities reflect the needs and concerns of the communities they serve. Traditional research has not always met this goal. Patients, community members, and knowledgeable people outside of the network are given a voice in RIOS Net decisions about topics and priorities to be addressed. RIOS Net's Community Outreach team strengthens and develops our partnerships with the culturally diverse communities throughout New Mexico.
Input is gathered and results of projects are reported back to the community at large, by meeting with various community groups including Chapter Houses, county Health Boards, and other local organizations. Interested parties, please contact Gina Urias-Sandoval or Lucinda Cowboy.
RIOS Net's Community Advisory Board assures that the community voice formally contributes to decisions being made. With statewide representation, the CAB suggests and reviews projects within the network, and advises on proposals and plans for each study.
