PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING SMALL
GROUP TUTORIALS

 

The Office of Teacher & Educational Development provides developmental, administrative, logistical, and material support to Block Chairs/Block Committees and tutors for all eight Phase I blocks, as described below. TED tutorial support activities include:
• Serving on Tutorial Steering Committee
• Training tutors to facilitate the tutorial small-group process
Assisting with the tutor recruitment, tracking, and reporting process
• Working with technical support in ongoing development of electronic processes
• Maintaining tutor database
• Orienting new students to the tutorial process

• Preparing room & group assignments and tutor contact information
• Ordering books and other curriculum materials

ormatting cases
• Maintaining case database and files
Duplicating curriculum materials
• Preparing tutor books for each tutor
• Packaging cases for students
• Disseminating tutorial materials
• Tracking and reporting block expenses and balances
• Monitoring and following up on tutor submission of student documentation
• Processing, reporting, and distributing student evaluation of tutor data
