Academic Success Center
Through Academic Success Center (ASC) the UNM School
of Medicine provides assistance to students to enhance their learning skills.
Consultations
We provide consultation regarding:
- Study habits
- Learning skills
- Test-taking strategies
- Test anxiety

- Time management
- Problem-solving conceptualization
- Myers-Briggs Type Indicator administration and interpretation
- Related areas of concern

After initial consultation students may be directed towards
available UNM or community resources, begin working on skills through ASC, or be
referred to special courses (Board Review) or diagnostics as needed.

- Medical students
- Physician Assistant students
- Interns
- Residents
Referrals
Referrals to ASC services are welcome from:
- Students and residents
- Block chairs
- Academic advisors
- Education deans (UME, Student Affairs, GME)
- Clerkship directors
- Clerkship coordinators
Academic Success Center is a division of Assessment & Learning. Assessment & Learning is a branch of Undergraduate Medical Education.
