  Biographical Sketch:

Dr. Shi has received a PhD in biophysics with a
specialization in free radical research.   He joined College of
Pharmacy of the University of New Mexico in 2001, and is
the P.I. of project 1 at COBRE program.  His project is to
study the role of redox status and hypoxia inducible factor 1
in cell death/survival in stroke with multidisciplinary
approaches such as electron paramagnetic resonance, MRI, and cellular and molecular techniques.
