The construction of the wing housing BRaIN in Domenici Hall
was made possible with a grant from the NCRR (C06-RR107566).
The research at BRaIN is supported by several NIH grants
with a major funding from a center grant from the NCRR
(P20-RR15636).

The applications
have closed for this pilot project funding. The UNM BRaIN Imaging Center will accept applications from
the entire UNM faculty for pilot research projects to be funded
for 5 months (July 1 - November 30, 2008). Four awardees will
receive $15,000 each. Proposals should be in the area of
neuroimaging/neuroscience and utilize one or more imaging
modalities, including optical, magnetic or electrical combined
with cellular/molecular biology or in the area of computational
neuroscience with a direct link to CNS pathophysiology. It
should be an extension or an off-shoot of an ongoing project.
Job Openings:
We are interested in expanding our
international group of scientists who are interested in
working with
us in the area of neuroimaging in animal models and basic
and clinical human studies.
Areas of interest include: technology development in
MRI, MEG, EEG, EPR, Optical, Cell/Molecular techniques and
research in neuroscience (stroke, epilepsy, traumatic brain
injury, neurodegeneration, neural replacement with stem
cells, signalling pathway, mitochondrial functions,
nanoparticle labeling, quantum dots, brain development,
autism, neuroscience-informed early childhood education or
NIECE, cerebral palsy, etc.) Contact Jean Pimentel
for more information.
