Center for Disaster Medicine

 

At the University of New Mexico Center for Disaster Medicine we believe that preparing for and responding to disasters is the responsibility of the whole community. Since 1989, CDM has supported community disaster preparedness through applied disaster research, healthcare disaster planning, emergency preparedness training for responders, and disaster field services.


Service Education Research

The Center for Disaster Medicine provides disaster and emergency medical services to New Mexico and the United States,through specialized emergency medical care units.

The critical Response Emergency Systems training program was developed to ensure that timely and relevant information regarding emergency preparedness and response is available for medical and public health professionals throughout the state.

Research concluded by the Center for Disaster Medicine includes aspects of emergency care such as disaster medicine,event and mass gathering medicine,special populations disaster medicine, triage protocols,and trauma care.
