The UNM Center for Life was inaugurated in 2007, replacing the Section of Integrative Medicine (2001-2007). Integrative Medicine is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (mind, body, and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and makes use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and complementary. CFL receives support from the Department of Internal Medicine, the Health Sciences Center, the New Mexico State Legislature, and individual donors.
As with most academic units, the mission of CFL is four-fold: to provide clinical service, medical education, research, and community service. These are described in detail throughout this website.
Your gift to the Center for Life will help us provide needed services to a diverse patient group whether you give your time and skills as a volunteer or a philanthropic gift of financial support, all contributions are gratefully received.
