How to Apply

The application for seniors graduating in 2010 is now closed.

Late applications will not be accepted. Applying to the program is a four-step process. Please follow these important guidelines when applying.

All items listed below MUST be received no later than midnight November 15:

1.      Applicants MUST submit the UNM admissions application for UNM main campus. This application can be found at http://www.unm.edu/preview/na_online.htm  (www.unm.edu) go to Future Students. It is the applicant’s responsibility to provide the UNM Office of Admissions all necessary documentation to complete the admission process. Admission to the BA/MD Program is contingent upon admission to UNM.

2.      BA/MD applicants MUST submit the UNM Incoming Freshman Scholarships Application to the BA/MD Office, postmarked no later than November 15. The Scholarship Application can be downloaded from http://www.unm.edu/~schol/apps/freshapp0910.pdf  and MUST be completed on paper and returned to the BA/MD office, postmarked by November 15th (Note 1)

3.      On-line application to the BA/MD Degree Program must be completed and all required documents submitted by November 15th.  Click here for specific application instructions. (Note 2 & 3)

4.      Additional required documentation (3 letters of recommendation, ACT and/or SAT scores, official 6th semester transcripts) must be received in the BA/MD office by November 15. When using U.S. Mail, postmarked no later than November 15 and must be mailed to:

Notes:

(1) BA/MD applicants must submit their scholarship application to the BA/MD Office by Nov 15th, not the December 1st deadline for all other scholarship applicants.

(2) BA/MD applications can be edited, prior to submission, from mid-August until November 15. Access by the applicant to the application will be blocked after that date. Program staff will continue to confirm receipt of all documentation and to update contact information on your application.

(3) To be considered for the program, applicants must achieve an ACT math sub-score of 22 or better; or a SAT math sub-score of 510 or better. Scores must be achieved prior to the November 15 application deadline.  (SAT II subject test scores are not accepted.) Applicants are allowed to apply by November 15th, even if they have not yet received their test scores (as long as the test was taken prior to Nov 15th).
