Debi Abram, M.P.A., 
Clinical Department Administrator 


Debi recently received recognition for over 20 years of service with the University of New Mexico.  She worked in Purchasing, Pathology/Office of the Medical Investigator, and the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry prior to accepting the position of Dermatology's Clinical Department Administrator in 2000.  Debi received her Masters of Public Administration in 2002.  The Clinical Department Administrator is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the department and oversees the financial, employment/human resources, clinical trials, and academic (residency/scholarly endeavors) operations within the department and is the liaison with other departments in the University system.  

Sheryl Howarth, Program Coordinator

Sheryl has extensive experience at the Department of Dermatology. She was first hired in 2001 as an Outpatient Clerk in the UH Dermatology Clinic. After four and one half years as an Outpatient Clerk, Sheryl was promoted to Clinic Office Manager for six months before she accepted the position of Program Coordinator in the SOM Department of Dermatology. During her time in the UH Dermatology Clinic, Sheryl gained invaluable experience in patient concerns, billing, CPT codes, and dermatological conditions.  As the Program Coordinator, Sheryl assists the Residency Program Director in maintaining guidelines and policies set by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education for continued residency program accreditation. She is also responsible for coordination of annual residency applications and interviews and schedules clinical rotations for medical students and residents/interns of other disciplines. In addition to her residency coordination tasks, Sheryl assists the faculty and residents in their academic and scholarly endeavors. She also coordinates other programs within the department such as credentialing, maintaing the website, and other duties as required. You will hear her friendly voice when you call 505-272-6000.


Francine Gibson,
Medical Coding Analyast

Francine is employed by the University Physician Associates.  She is directly involved in our department as she is responsible for recording appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes for Dermatology billings and collections.
