Current Residents

Monica M. Romero, M.D., PGY 4
Dr. Romero began her Dermatology Residency on July 1, 2005. Dr. Romero received her degree in medicine at the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine, Albuquerque, New Mexico, in May 2004.

June Kim, M.D., PGY 3

Dr. Kim graduated from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School at Dallas in May 2003. She completed her internship at Stanford Hospital and Clinic in Stanford, California. The two years in between her internship and her dermatology residency were spent at the Stanford Hospital in the Department of Dermatology as a Dermatology Clinical Fellow conducting clinical research.

Sheldon Sebastian, M.D., PGY 3

Dr. Sebastian was born and raised in Farmington, New Mexico and completed his medical degree at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 2005. He began his dermatology residency in July, 2006 after finishing an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.

Tracy Thomas, M.D., PGY 3

Dr. Thomas began her Dermatology Residency on January 1, 2007 after completing the equivalent of six months of a residency program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona before the program closed. At the same time that program closed, we had an unexpected opening in our program. Dr. Thomas received her medical degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 2002. She had two years of Pathology Resident/Researcher experience, prior to her acceptance in the University of Arizona Medical College Dermatology residency.

Shilpa Reddy, M.D., PGY 2

Dr. Reddy completed her medical degree at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 2006. She stayed at the University of New Mexico for her transitional year in the Department of Internal Medicine.

Marshall Shuler, M.D., PGY 2

Dr. Shuler came to our program after receiving his medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina. Dr. Shuler stayed at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine to complete his internship in the Department of Dermatology.

Ranhy Bang, M.D., PGY 1

Dr. Bang matched with us to begin her Dermatology Residency, effective July 1, 2008. Dr. Bang received her Medical Degree in 2006 from Texas A&M University System Health Sciences Center College of Medicine at College Station, Texas. After graduation, Dr. Bang spent a year in research as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Currently, Dr. Bang is at the University of New Mexico School of Medicines's Department of Internal Medicine, where she is completing her transitional year.
