Department of Dermatology

Clinical Services

Clinical Services provided by the Department of Dermatology are diverse.  Clinics at the University Hospital Dermatology Clinic’s includes clinics Monday through Friday in both the mornings (physician clinics) and afternoons (resident clinics) (see weekly schedule) .  The UH Dermatology Clinic provides services for a broad spectrum of dermatological diseases.

The six residents and one faculty member provide dermatologic services at the New Mexico Veterans Administration Health Care System (NMVAHCS) four mornings a week (Monday through Thursday) for individuals eligible for VA benefits.

A clinic is available for UNM students on Thursday afternoons, usually two to three weeks a month at the Student Health Center on the main campus of the University of New Mexico.  Residents, under the supervision of two of our clinical faculty members, provide services for eligible UNM students.

The UNM Health Sciences Center Cancer Center is also a location for Dermatology Services.  Drs. Padilla and Strange perform surgical procedures, weekly, at the Cancer Center.  These surgical procedures include the Mohs procedure for skin cancer lesions.
