The building was erected in 1972 "to last a
century." The building was designed and planned by James J.
Stagnone, M.D., his partners, and Joe Boehning, architect. The
building was designed to meet the rigid specifications of a dermatology
practice. In 1999, Dr. Stagnone decided to sell the facility and
by working with the UNM real estate office and the Foundation Gift
Acceptance Committee, Dr. Stagnone donated one-half of the building to
the UNM School of Medicine. His generous gift made it possible for
the University to purchase the building. |
