UNM School of Medicine alumni from the classes of 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986 and 1996 gathered in Albuquerque for their class reunions Sept. 15 and 16.
For many, the highlight of the weekend was their class party on Sept. 15. The classes of 1971, 1976, and 1996 gathered at the Artichoke Café on Central Avenue; Bennie Archuleta, MD, hosted the class of 1981; and Dave Pitcher, MD, welcomed the class of 1986.
All the reunion classes gathered in the Basic Medical Sciences Building on Saturday, Sept. 17 for continuing medical education. Ellen Cosgrove, MD, gave an update on the state of medical education at the UNM School of Medicine, including an overview of the new BA/MD program. Robert Katz, MD, gave an update on the state of clinical care at UNMH including a virtual tour of the new pavilion wing, set to open in April 2007.
The weekend culminated in a dinner for all reunion classes at the National Atomic Museum.
