Research FUNDING
Funding will be available on a competitive basis for all students and is subject to available monies.
After the research proposal is approved by the Medical Student Research Committee, students may present a written request to the Medical Student Research Committee for funding of up to $500 per student for supplies needed for their research project, if funds are not available from other sources (i.e., mentor grant, mentor’s department). If students are working as a team on one project, the allowable request is $500 times the number of students in the team. The request must include an accurate budget estimating expenses.
A signed letter from the student's faculty research mentor must confirm the need for supply monies.
Funding, if approved, will be available during the fiscal year the approval was made. If the full amount of funding is not used during that time period, the student must reapply for the balance of the funds when needed and re-approval will depend on availability of monies.
No funding will be approved if not requested in advance by the student.
