Select Mentor	July 6, 2007	n/a
Submit Research Proposal	January 3, 2008	Must submit proposal for promotion to Phase II.
Approval of Research Proposal	January 3, 2009	Must have proposal approved for promotion to Phase III.
Submit Scholarly Research Paper for Review	December 1, 2009	Must have final paper approved before graduation.
Research Presentation	April 2010	Must present research prior to graduation.

Presentation – In order for your presentation to be applied as your research requirement, your PROPOSAL must be APPROVED prior to the time of presentation. The most common opportunities for presentation with The University of New Mexico School of Medicine connection are:

1. The Western Student Medical Research Forum in Carmel, California, traditionally held every year in January/February;

2. New Mexico Academy of Family Physicians winter meeting (January) in Albuquerque and summer meeting (June/July) in Taos, NM.

3. The University of New Mexico School of Medicine’s Medical Student Research Day, usually held in mid-April;

4. New Mexico Chapter of the American College of Physicians in Albuquerque, usually held the first week in November;
