Dave began his career in EMS in 1992, as a
volunteer firefighter/EMT in upstate New York. He quickly developed
a love for rural
EMS and soon became Lieutenant of the EMS company, upgraded to
EMT-Intermediate, and began a full time career in EMS. In addition,
he became a Lab Instructor for the Putnam County Bureau of Fire and
EMS. In 1997 Dave attended the Paramedic Program at the State
University of New York – Westchester. Shortly after graduation he
moved to New Mexico so his wife could attend the International
Institute of Chinese Medicine. Dave began at Albuquerque Ambulance
Service in 1999. He was promoted to Field Operations Supervisor in
2002 and developed a love for teaching. By the end of 2005 it was
time for a change from urban EMS. Dave began his full time teaching
career at the EMS Academy in December of 2005. Dave, his wife Susan
and their 5 year old daughter Maya have decided to stay in the
beautiful state of New Mexico. Dave is a Falconer and loves birds
and all of nature. He enjoys hiking, listening to great music and is
learning to play the bass. He looks forward to becoming a great
teacher and being a part of the future of EMS.
