Ryan Maloney began his career in EMS after
completing an EMT-B course at the EMS
Academy. After realizing that he could
exceed the speed limit, run red lights
and meet interesting characters while
getting paid, he decided to become
a paramedic.
He has worked in the ski patrol, at
Medstar EMS in Gallup, Albuquerque
Ambulance Service, and Lifeguard air
medical service. Ryan completed his
paramedic program in 1996 and earned
his Bachelor of Science in EMS at UNM
in 2003. Although a full-time educator
with the EMS Academy, Ryan has remained
a casual pool medic with both Albuquerque
Ambulance Service and Lifeguard.
His hobbies include futbol (that's soccer
to you Americans), skiing, mountain biking
and harassing his fellow employees and
students.
