Cancer 101 Education and Outreach Program for New Mexico Native American Communities



The Cancer 101 Education and Outreach TeamThe UNM Center for Native American Health, UNM Cancer Center and National Cancer Institute's Cancer Information Service are working together to reduce cancer disparities in, and ultimately deliver comprehensive cancer care services to the state’s Native American population through: outreach to build relationships, assessment of Native American community-specified cancer priorities, implementation and assessment of community-based cancer education, and development of a Native American cancer information resource center. Basic cancer information is provided to Native American community members in a culturally appropriate and relevant manner.
