All new preceptors need to complete the Preceptor Questionnaire that provides information about the physician and the practice, a Preceptor Authorization Form, in order to receive access to the library, and a Volunteer faculty Appointment Form an appointment to the UNM School of Medicine through their respective department. A curriculum vitae is also required.
Approval of the new preceptor requires approval by the chair of his/her specialty and by the committee responsible for approval of students' clerkships. We can only submit complete applications with all of the above required information.
Each preceptor is asked to attend one of the several training sessions that are provided throughout the year.
Preceptors will receive detailed information about expectations and requirements for each clinical experience.
