Curriculum and Educational Resources

A curriculum committee, comprised of interdisciplinary faculty from within the UNM Health Sciences campus and consortium institutions (N.M.  State University and N.M. Highlands University) oversees the development of educational materials and training sessions. The educational programs are directed to two primary audiences:

  1. Faculty and students in medicine, nursing, pharmacy and social work in the universities, and
  2. Practitioners of these disciplines in the community, and especially those in the Albuquerque Service Unit of the Indian Health Service (IHS).

NMGEC education and training programs concentrate on fostering an appreciation of the richness of Indian culture and traditions, and an awareness of the use of traditional healing practices.
