Masters in Public Health Minor (15 credit hours total):

Because of the recent growth of interest in public health courses from throughout the University, the Masters in Public Health Program has created a public health minor which will provide a basic understanding of the core principles and sciences behind the discipline of public health. Inquiries have come from each of the Departments and Programs listed below providing a potentially substantial student base. Some Departments such as Psychology have created a Health Psychology doctorate with requirement for their students to take more courses than required in the MPH minor. Although some programs are encouraging their students to take dual masters, the limited number of MPH graduate admissions each year may make the availability of a MPH minor attractive to a larger group of students.

Students need to declare the minor when they turn in their POS. Please contact the student advisor for forms.
If the credit hours are not used toward your major degree, they can be used toward the MPH Program should they apply in the future (assuming you are within 7 years).

Competencies can be applied to the minor and then toward the MPH.
