Outreach and Dissemination

The Outreach and Dissemination (OD) component is designed to implement systematic processes for adapting and disseminating empirically supported interventions (ESIs) in community settings and for raising awareness about the appropriate evaluation of culturally supported interventions (CSI) among university researchers. The OD will foster an infrastructure for community-based participatory research (CBPR) in order to ensure that SARG research projects produce data that are not only scientifically accurate and current, but also culturally relevant and of use to New Mexican communities. To this end, the OD has three aims:

  1. To convene a Community Advisory Board composed of health professionals and representatives from the communities involved in research undertaken by SARG Investigators;
  2. To provide educational opportunities to SARG Investigators that will improve understanding of CBPR methodologies which, in turn, will facilitate the advancement of ESI and CSI interventions based on the priorities and input of communities;
  3. To develop innovative CBPR outreach and dissemination processes that facilitate the sharing of data between SARG investigators and communities, as well as the planning and evaluation of ESI and CSI interventions.
