Help Support the Department of
Family & Community Medicine

Areas of Need

FCM ResidentYour gift can:

  • Support educational programs, particularly interdisciplinary training of rural primary care physicians.
  • Attract and retain dedicated minority and Native American students and residents.
  • Attract and retain dedicated, high quality faculty.
  • Specifically, these priorities translate into procuring support for:
    • Faculty chairs and professorships, e.g. Chair in Rural Medicine
    • Fellowship opportunities in international family medicine (one month exchanges for faculty and residents to and from international programs)
    • Chair discretionary support for our departments innovative programs

Many gifts are not specifically designated. These gifts, which are of all sizes, are very valuable and go into the department education fund. This fund is general support for the Department of Family and Community Medicine and goes to the opportunity, strategic investment or need that is currently the most important: for example, a critical piece of equipment, a residency need or an important research project. This fund truly supports primary care.

If you decide to designate your gift, you can establish a scholarship with a gift of $25,000 or a fellowship with a gift of $100,000. If you are considering a large gift, you might establish a prestigious professorship ($1,000,000) or a Chair ($2,000,000+) named for you or someone you love, with an outright gift or a gift in your will. And, of course, you can contribute your gift over more than just one year.
