Graduate Medical Education Committee Minutes
Chair: David Sklar, MD, Associate Dean for GME, DIO
The GMEC is responsible for policy and procedures (which include but are not limited to selection, evaluation, promotion, and dismissal), resident salaries, funding, benefits, monitors resident duty hours, program reviews, ACGME accreditation, oversight of residency programs and Office of GME, and appointment of ACGME Program Directors.
Operations Committee Minutes
Chairs: Ben Hoffman, MD, Gerald Charlton, MD
The Operations Committee is composed of all Program Directors. The committee reviews duty hours for all programs, educational issues, supervision, evaluation, operational issues, resident fatigue education, etc.
GME Forum Minutes
Moderator: Benjamin Hoffman, MD
The GME Forum consists of all members of all GME Committees. The committee discusses all educational issues and provides a forum for discussion of GME issues. Additionally, best practices related to the ACGME general competencies are incorporated into the agendas.
Program Review Committee Minutes
Chairs: Betty Chang, MD, Therese Bocklage, MD
The Program Review Committee is appointed by the GMEC to perform internal reviews to access compliance with RRC requirements, review ACGME letters of accreditation and other ACMGE correspondence (major changes in structure, length of training, participating institutions, progress reports, responses to RRC’s, voluntary withdrawal, appeals, etc), develop and monitor actions plans for non-compliance, and follow-up on program review recommendations and concerns.
Policy & Procedure Committee Minutes
Chair: Judith Brillman, MD
The Policy and Procedure Committee establishes and reviews policy, procedures, and guidelines regarding the quality of education and the working environment for resident physicians. The resident contract and GME Regulation and Benefit manual is reviewed and updated annually by the committee. The Policy & Procedure Committee makes recommendations to the GMEC.
Rightsizing Committee Minutes
Chair: Gerald Charlton, MD
The Rightsizing Committee reviews applications for new programs and expansion of existing programs. The committee makes recommendations for funding to the GMEC, the Dean of the School of Medicine, and the major participating institutions.

The Resident Council is a group of residents who are elected by their departments to provide representation for all programs. The committee focus is resident salaries and benefits, as well as improving the quality of resident life and education.
The Resident Council addresses issues concerning the Residents and Fellows. If you would like to join the council or if you have something you would like the council to address, please contact Dr. Jose Sterling.
The Resident Council meets the first Tuesday of the month from 12:00 - 1:30 PM.
Program Coordinator Council Minutes
Chairs: Pat Cleve, Joe Sparkman
The Program Coordinator Council provides information on current issues in GME, training in New Innovations, recruitment, NRMP, etc.
