In order to create better communication between Departments and prevent Residents from having call two consecutive nights the following guidelines will be followed:
Residents will be responsible for notifying programs coordinators when they are on call the final night of one rotation to ensure they will not be scheduled for call on the first night of the next rotation. The Resident should notify the Program Coordinator within one week of the start of the current rotation. The resident will notify the program coordinator of the rotation on which he is scheduled for the next rotation that he/she has been on call the night before so that the coordinator can find an alternate resident, and so the resident who was on call the last night of the last rotation will not have two consecutive nights on call.
