Graduate Medical Education
Child Neurology Residency
The Child Neurology training
program is three years in duration. Residents usually enter the program after two years
training in Pediatrics. Other training requires prior evaluation to determine
acceptability.
Training time is spent in both adult and child neurology. The resident maintains a
bimonthly continuity clinic throughout the three years. Electives include further training
in electroencephalography and electromyography, neuroradiology or neuropathology. Other
electives include both basic sciences and clinical research, neuro-ophthalmology,
rehabilitation, spinal cord injury and neurological surgery. Training situations may be
made available in private practice settings in both general and child neurology.
