  In 2003, the IPH coordinated formal assessm ents of the public health system of New Mexico (statewide) and 19 of its counties. The assessments were based on the ten essential public health services using nationally recognized performance standards. Strengths and weakness were identified resulting in a blueprint for planning and action.
