Our Vision

Through its activities, the IPH helps to shape and focus UNM resources on the public health priorities of the state. The IPH will be the principal coordinating entity to ensure that the Health Sciences Center (HSC) makes the greatest possible impact on the health of New Mexicans. The IPH will add value to its partners in the HSC and School of Medicine (SOM) by leveraging and enhancing resources to support and promote public health research, educational activities, and public health services. The IPH will be known as the primary point of contact in the SOM for information on research, education, and services that pertain to the health of the public in New Mexico.

 

Our Goals

• Goal 1: Enhance the ability of University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center to reduce health disparities and improve health status in New Mexico
• Goal 2: Strengthen the capacity of the New Mexico Public Health System to reduce health disparities and improve health status by supporting and working in partnership with the New Mexico Department of Health, Indian Health Services, New Mexico Health Policy Commission, and local programs and communities
