Our nationally certified dispatchers are on hand around around the clock, receiving calls and coordinating Lifeguard flight activities. Dispatcher's are licensed paramedics, who are familiar with all New Mexico hospitals and medical centers. Our 1-800 number allows healthcare professionals to arrange transport of a patient as well contact receiving doctors for the best care possible.
Note: if University Hospital has reached maximum capacity, dispatchers arrange patient transport to a hospital of the patient's or family member's choice.
Consisting of experienced pilots and highly-trained flight nurses and paramedics, Lifeguard crews provide the finest critical care possible by the fastest means available. Crews maintain close radio contact with a dispatcher and a medical control emergency physician before and during a flight. In addition, Lifeguard provides an emergency physician to accompany a crew when a patient's condition warrants such care. Finally, Lifeguard crews are complemented by the full support services of University Hospital.
