The UNM Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine holds fellow education as a primary responsibility. The Division offers a three-year combined Pulmonary/Critical Care Program or
a two-year Critical Care Program, and resources are available to extend training for those interested in basic science or clinical research careers. Both programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, and the carefully designed curriculum and dedicated faculty ensure that fellows are well prepared for the American Board of Medical Specialties Pulmonary and/or Critical Care certification examinations.
All fellows are required to participate in a series of Conferences , teaching blocks, and lecture series that are designed to provide a comprehensive background in pulmonary and critical care theory and practice.
