We educate health care providers about management of HIV infection, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment and psychosocial issues.

What We Do

• Provide up-to-date education to health care professionals on HIV
• Provide information about state HIV programs and resources
• Serve as a resource for New Mexico's health professions schools
• Provide individualized clinical education experience
• Teach health care professionals to share their expertise with peers
• Provide partial to full funding/scholarship support for providers to attend trainings, workshops, conferences, and professional development training

The New Mexico AIDS Education and Training Center is housed at the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. NMAETC is affiliated with the Mountain-Plains Regional AIDS Education and Training Center. It is partially funded by: Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) under the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency Act Amendments of 1996, Public Law 104-146, 42 U.S. Code 300§§-77, cooperative agreement #2 U69 PE00 1100, and by New Mexico state funds.
