Women's Heart Health

The University of New Mexico Women's Cardiovascular Health Program is a program for women of all ages who desire a healthy cardiovascular system. For American women, heart disease is the leading cause of death. One out of every three women will die from heart disease. Stroke is the third leading cause of death. Yet most women are not aware of these statistics or of the risk factors making one more susceptible to cardiovascular disease. The goal of the Women's Cardiovascular Health Program is to offer individualized, cardiovascular risk factor screening and symptom assessment. This evaluation will help determine each woman's personal heart and stroke health, risk factors, and the level of prevention or treatment strategy each woman requires.
