Clerkship Director of Undergraduate Education:
Edward Fancovic, MD
Dr. Fancovic has been active in primary care for his entire career,
working in community health centers, private practice and academic
practice. He is particularly interested in outreach to the gay, lesbian,
bisexual and transgender communities. He was a member of the board of
directors of New Mexico AIDS Services from 2001-2007 and he enjoys
working with the HIV-positive community. He has also been involved in
implementation of the electronic medical record system at the Health
Sciences Center since 1999. In 2009 he became the clerkship director
for internal medicine, with oversight responsibility for the education
of our medical students when they do their internal medicine rotation.
He graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine and he
completed his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He
joined the UNM faculty in 1998.

Dr. Yvonne Dalton-Etheridge, a native of Orlando, Florida, earned her B.S. from the University of Tennessee and her M.D. from the University of Miami. She moved to Albuquerque in 2000 to do her internal medicine residency at UNM. She is currently an assistant professor at UNM and has been working as a hospitalist at the Albuquerque VA Hospital since 2003. Her interests include medical student and resident education and curriculum development. When not at work, Dr. Dalton-Etheridge enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Clerkship Administrator: Ernes"Tina" Gomez
Tina Gomez is the clerkship Administrator for the Office of Education. She has been with the University of New Mexico since 1996. Her experience has been multifaceted from working with chairman, directors, faculty, residents, and medical students to staff, co-workers, and clerkship administrators both locally and nationally. She started working with medical students in the Department of OB/GYN, the Division of Cardiology and now in her current position. Tina has worked in Internal Medicine since 1998.

Clerkship Coordinator: Melissa Cordero
Melissa Cordero is the Clerkship Coordinator for the Office of Education. She has been with the University of New Mexico for 12 years. Melissa came to us from The University of New Mexico Continuing Education. Prior to that Melissa spent 7 years at The Purchasing Department.
